How to use this calculator
Enter the start and end date/time, add any break minutes, and read both the gross and net duration.
Set the end date and time
Enter the end timestamp. For overnight ranges, set the end date to the next calendar day: the calculator detects the midnight crossing automatically.
Add break minutes
Enter any unpaid break time in minutes (e.g. a 30-minute lunch break). The tool subtracts this from gross time to show the net worked duration.
Read gross, net, and decimal hours
The result panel shows gross duration (total elapsed time), net duration (after break deduction), and decimal hours (e.g. 7.5h instead of 7h 30m): the format used by most payroll and billing systems.
